What is Primary research?
Primary research is (field research) it mean you going out and gathering new data that has not to be collected before for example interviews with groups of people in focus groups and you can use surveys using questionnaires
What is Secondary research?
Secondary research is (desk research) it means you gathering existing data that has already been produced for example using google or books.
I made this mind map to help me think of what weapon I want to make. and then when I fireguard out what I wanted I then when on to get some images.
These are my Primary research pictures what I got from the royal armories I got these to help me think of what weapon I wanted and I decided to go for a medieval melee weapon.
This is my first mood board to help me think of ideas for what type of medieval melee weapon wanted. I was leaning towards more of a spear weapon.
-I went on to do some quick drawing of some random weapon ideas and then after drawing some I full decided on a spear weapon.
So I made a second mood board just of spear for more inspiration. Ones I got a wide range of pictures.

So when I finished the mood board I went on to making my spears handle end.
When I found one that I liked I then went on to make it better.

I looked back at my random weapon ideas then I redrew the best one that I liked the most.

Then I trashed it on to some trashing paper so it made it a lot easy to combine them together.
When I combine them together I when and printed some off so I could try some different ideas.

I did tow deigns then chose the one I most liked and printed some more off the one I chose.

Went on to do the colors when I finished I looked at them and chose the one I liked to the most and then went to 3D MAX with it.
Just before going to 3D MAX I drew a to scale drawing.
The first thing I did when I went in to 3ds Max I made a plane then I went in to material editor and added a Standard under scanline and then I dragged my best picture in to the material editor and connected it to the Standard “Diffuse color” Then I selected the plane and assign material to selection then show shaded material in viewport. Then shaped the plane so my weapon looked to scale.
When I finished it I through for my first weapon it when pretty well I’m glad that I chose the purple baled color as I think it gives it more of a unique look.
One thing I did not like was that the tip of the weapon ended up looking too big it could of doing a little smaller as it looks like the hand could barely sport it if it was a weapon in real life. After finishing it I feel like I have more of a grasp on modeling 3d items and texturing them.
